A lot of apartments, especially in Europe, are right within the flight line of an airport. It makes them a little cheaper. It's just odd that subtle noises would bother these people but they are able to ignore the constant jet traffic.
But you are Canadian. You wouldn't understand that. You all have so much space you never have to worry about airplanes being overhead and since it's cold all the time, you just like to stay home and study quietly.
At least that's what I think...

True enough for the most part, but I used to live next to an Air Force base. When the F-18s were taking off, it sounded like they were coming right down the chimney.
