CTV (sorta):
"I make no allegations here. I don't know the facts, and that's the point. I want someone in government to establish the facts and establish if there is -- or is not -- a link with a minister of the Crown," [Liberal critic Michael] Ignatieff told reporters Monday."I don't care about her skirts, I don't care about her cleavage, I don't care about her quivering, bee-stung lips, I don't care about her thrusting, heaving bosoms, I don't care about her pert, eminently pinchable botto--" At which point he was dragged away, foaming at the mouth, by House of Commons staff.
Update: Minister Bernier has resigned. Ignatieff had no immediate comment, remaining "under sedation, on doctor's orders."

Thanks for confirming my own thoughts that, as a former professor, had Iggy been able to grade his own knowledgeability about Ms. Couillard's physique, body parts and apparel, he might have given himself an "A" for observation.
Sleep well, Prince Iggy....

I thought when I heard these remarks - they were completely uncalled for. For "someone" so holy who is hoping and waiting for his own leader to make some mistakes so he can jump into the role, I thought these remarks were very sexist and I hope someone takes him to "task" over them! Why didn't he stick to the facts, was he noticing, will he be another Bill Clinton if he becomes PM?..... After all, he did work in the U.S. all his working years, now he wants to come back here and tell us how our Country should run!. Don't think so!

He's not the only one - why do the papers keep running the same photo of Bernier's girlfriend showing her cleavage!
As the British judge Nigel in Do You Think You Can Dance jokingly said of the hip-hop dancer Dominique ogling a blond dancer auditioning for the first show this season: 'You're a sick puppy!"

That seems kind of unfair to say. Iggy makes a point: sex can sell a newspaper (or attract hits to a blog or get people to watch TV, etc). If she was fat or old or looked bad on TV, nobody would care this much about this story.
This is the kind of thing where appearances can be deceiving. This wouldn't be half the deal it is if it weren't for the fact that it's so full of scandal (Hell's Angels! Links to the Crown! Sex! Betrayal!) just like Mary Hines probably wouldn't care about the Ignatieff's comments if she weren't so vehemently opposed to his importance in Canadian politics.
Kudos to Ignatieff for (trying to) stay out of the high school drama side of all this and bring it back to the actual political issue at hand.

Thought you might enjoy my comedy video on the Bernier scandal - there are tons of funny Quebecois references throughout. :)
