Barack Obama on Tuesday vowed he would break America's addiction to "dirty, dwindling, and dangerously expensive" oil if he is elected U.S. president - and one of his first targets might well be Canada's oilsands.A senior adviser to Obama's campaign told reporters it's an "open question" whether oil produced from northern Alberta's oilsands fits with the Democratic candidate's plan to shift the U.S. sharply away from consumption of carbon-intensive fossil fuels.
Oh well, can't put nothin' by you, huh? I guess we'll have to build that pipeline out to the coast and wait, wait, wait for someone -- anyone -- to buy our filthy oil.
In the meantime, good luck replacing 1/4 of your imports. I'm sure your Saudi "friends" will be delighted to accomodate you. For certain considerations, of course.

Obama just shows his ignorance about Canada and the oil sands. He also doesn't realize that our oil is processed in US refineries, so those states won't be too happy with him if he forces us to turn off the oil.

Alberta Canada is the main supplier of oil to the united states and if OBAMA wants to treat us that way, fine, so long good riddance we will sell our oil elsewhere. now where does that moron thinks he is going to get oil for his country. VENEZUELA, HUGO CHAVEZ hates the americans plus he is 'nuts.' Saudia arabia is very strict and dictated kingdom and american will not be giving orders but taking orders from dictators.
If OBAMA wants to destroy canada-U.S. relations which I think he will.- canada need not rely on them anymore.
Obama is taking orders from AL GORE who hates Alberta. He, Al Gore knows nothing about the environment since he flies in a jet that sputes out more gas into the atmosphere than any car that drives across the united states. AlGore is phony. He has three mansions which uses more electricity than the average joe. yet he has the gall to tell the average joe to consume less energy when washing clothes etc. He is arrogant and the average joe american has nothing to do with him.
David Rutherford in Calgary had a chat with an american mayor who is here in calgary to see about how she put it 'dirty oil', well you can imagine david was rather upset with her when she has no clue as to how what where oil goes to be refined-the united states. if you can get today's tape between david and the american; it will interest you to hear what was said in the interview.
