My Name Change

If you'll recall Michael Moore's "documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11 you probably remember this scene of George W. Bush on a golf course, intended to prove that he was a heartless monster who played at the bourgeous pastime of railroad tycoons and oligarchs while soldiers bled in the grim streets of Baghdad. That was the theory, anyway. All that I took away from it was that Bush has a nice golf swing, compact but powerful.

Indeed his innate athleticism has long been noted. In 1999 Golf magazine credited the then-Governor with a 15-point handicap, calling it "legitimate" in comparison to Bill Clinton's.

But what's this? Barack Obama turns up on a list of the 200 best golfers in Washington, with an "estimated" handicap of 16. One problem with that might be found in this video:

If that terrible, herky-jerky swing qualifies for a 16 handicap, then my name is now Tiger Freaking Woods.

Clearly, golf is not His Calling.

What surprises me is that His Disciples in the Obamamedia recorded His Miracle of transforming grass into divots.

mojo:

Never trust a man who lies about his golf handicap.

Marko:

Bwaa. ha. ha. It is rather obvious that in Obama's case the meaning of the phrase 'golf handicap' has been redefined to per hole rather than per round.

The man bowled a 37 and his golf game may be even worse!

rabbit:

Obama heaves and dips his body forward rather than turning through the ball like Bush.

A 16-handicapper should be able to break 90 from time to time from the second-from-the-back tees. Not with that swing, cupcake.

Mike:

Fascinating. His swing is worse than mine (and that's saying a lot) and my handicap is 28.

I hope he follows through on his politics better than on his swing

I'm a 10 handicap. I'll give him 7 strokes a side and lighten his wallet. I don't think he could break 115 with a swing like that!

connertown:

What happened is that Tiger Woods thought that a 16 handicap was a mild put-down, and "credited" Obama with that.

I would love to have a 16 handicap. My swing is a lot like Obama's, and I've never come within 16 of par. Not once. And I dare say, neither has he.
